best scenic drives melbourne Page 6

Melbourne’s best scenic drives are basically therapy with better views and fewer awkward silences. Hit the Great Ocean Road for cliffside drama and koala-spotting, then carve the Black Spur between Healesville and Narbethong for towering gums and smug cornering lines. The Dandenong Ranges (Sassafras–Olinda loop) deliver mist, bakeries, and an excuse to say “twisty” a lot, while the Mornington Peninsula/Arthurs Seat gives you bay vistas and winery brags. If you fancy cool air and curves, the Macedon Ranges is an easy sprint with proper country charm. Pack a thermos and a map—phone signal quits right when the views get smug.
