best small luxury suv australia 2022 Page 8

Picking the “best” small luxury SUV in Australia for 2022 is like ranking flat whites—depends on palate and potholes.

• Audi Q3: Pros — roomy cabin, slick tech, polished ride; Cons — options add up fast, some variants a bit thirsty.
• Volvo XC40: Pros — superb seats, top safety, relaxed manners; Cons — boot smaller than Q3, infotainment quirks on some trims.
• BMW X1 (F48): Pros — sharp handling and efficient engines; Cons — ageing interior by 2022 and firm on big wheels.
• Mercedes-Benz GLA: Pros — classy cabin and strong driver aids; Cons — rear space merely okay and options balloon the price.

Test-drive them back-to-back and let your spine, ears and wallet decide—the real “best” is the one that annoys you least on the M1.
