best towing suv australia 2023 Page 2

Hunting the best towing SUV in Australia for 2023? Several 3500 kg braked-capable options shine, but payload, GCM and tow‑ball weight matter just as much as badges.

Consider these:

• Toyota LandCruiser 300 — Pros: 3500 kg, torquey V6 diesel, proven cooling; Cons: pricey, payload can vanish fast with people and gear.
• Nissan Patrol (Y62) — Pros: 3500 kg, smooth V8 and stable chassis; Cons: very thirsty, fewer GVM upgrade paths than LC.
• Ford Everest V6 — Pros: 3500 kg, excellent trailer tech and driver aids; Cons: payload/GCM juggling when the van and family hop aboard.
• Isuzu MU‑X — Pros: 3500 kg, honest 3.0 diesel, value; Cons: modest power—hills require patience at max weight.

Match your van’s ATM to the SUV’s payload/GCM maths, use a WDH where required, and keep download within spec. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
