best value dual cab ute 2023 Page 8

“Best value” in dual-cab ute land isn’t the cheapest sticker; it’s the one that won’t mug your wallet later.

Mitsubishi Triton: Pros—sharp run‑out pricing and long warranty; Cons—older platform, tighter rear seat and a ride that jiggles when unladen.

Isuzu D‑MAX (and twin Mazda BT‑50): Pros—tough 3.0‑litre diesel, standard safety tech and solid towing; Cons—firmer ride and creeping prices.

Ford Ranger: Pros—excellent tech, strong engines (including V6) and car‑like cabins; Cons—most expensive to spec and wait times can bite.

GWM Ute Cannon: Pros—loads of kit for the money; Cons—resale and dealer footprint still maturing, plus refinement not quite class‑leading.

Shortlist a few, compare total costs (insurance, servicing, fuel) and buy the one that insults your spine the least—value lives there.
