best value off road caravan Page 679

“Best value” in an off-road caravan means paying for the bits that survive corrugations, not the fairy lights.

Look for genuine independent suspension, alloy/composite construction, dust-proofing, a healthy payload (ATM minus tare) of at least 400–600 kg, and a strong chassis.

In Australia, new off-road vans typically land around AUD $70k–$130k, while tidy used examples often sit between $30k–$90k depending on size, kit and brand.

Skip the bling and prioritise water capacity, solar, recovery points and after-sales support; the Outback doesn’t care about mood lighting.
