best winery tasmania Page 4

Ah, Tasmania, the underdog of Aussie wine regions, where cool-climate grapes strut their stuff. The "best" winery is about as subjective as a kangaroo's choice in hop spots, but a few names pop up like top-notch bubbles in a glass of sparkling Pinot Noir. Check out Josef Chromy for a posh setting and award-winning drops, or House of Arras if you fancy sparkling wines that make Champagne sweat. Then there's Pooley Wines in the Coal River Valley, a stalwart for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. If you're ready to splash your wallet, new and used wine tours and tastings can be found on sites like Tradingpost or CarShowroom, though the best way is to visit and sip your way through the region yourself.
