Ah, the mythical bidirectional EV charger—also known as vehicle-to-grid (V2G) or vehicle-to-home (V2H) charger. These ingenious devices not only fill your electric car's battery but can also siphon juice back out to your house or the grid. Power output typically ranges from 3.6 kW to 22 kW, and they support AC charging. Prices for new units in Australia hover around $2,000 to $5,000 AUD, with used ones occasionally showing up on Tradingpost or CarShowroom for less.

Benefits include emergency backup power and potential income from selling electricity back to the grid, but installation requires compatible vehicles and sometimes grid approval. Still, this tech is evolving fast, so check the latest from manufacturers and your local energy provider.
