bmw m3 f80 review Page 29

The F80 BMW M3 is a four-door stick of dynamite: twin‑turbo straight‑six shove, rear‑drive cheekiness, and a chassis that eggs you on like a bad influence. Early cars felt edgy on rough Aussie tarmac, while later tweaks improved the ride and traction without dulling the grin. The soundtrack is more industrial whoosh than operatic wail, but the pace and steering precision make up for the lack of goosebumps. Cabin tech is solid if a step behind modern stuff, yet the driving position is spot-on.

Be aware: some owners report crank‑hub concerns (especially on tuned cars), occasional DCT heat fade on track, and tyre bills that read like a tax audit. Treat it right and it’s a brilliantly fast, practical sedan with a wicked sense of humour.
