bmw self driving car Page 8

Short version: BMW doesn’t sell a self-driving car in Australia—no matter what the brochure fonts imply. What you do get on many models (3 Series, 5 Series, X5, i4, iX) is Driving Assistant Professional: adaptive cruise with stop‑and‑go, lane‑centring, lane‑change assist, and traffic‑jam help.

It’s still Level 2, which means you’re the designated grown‑up and must stay alert and ready to steer. Australia hasn’t approved Level 3 autonomy for BMW here yet, so hands-off dreams remain just that. Great for taking the sting out of the Hume; terrible for naps, novels, or emojis. Check the exact option packs on the car you’re eyeing—some features are bundled or optional by trim and year.
