bmw x5 vs range rover sport Page 9

Two luxury SUVs swagger into your driveway: BMW X5 and Range Rover Sport—same brief, very different vibes.

• BMW X5 pros: Sharp on-road handling, strong engines, polished infotainment, and usually better fuel efficiency.
• BMW X5 cons: Ride can be firm on big wheels, and off-road prowess is mostly theoretical.
• Range Rover Sport pros: Plush ride, hushed cabin, serious off-road hardware, and a proper sense of occasion.
• Range Rover Sport cons: Heavier thirst, pricier options, and ownership costs that can raise an eyebrow.

Both tow up to 3,500 kg braked and offer generous cargo space, but the X5 leans toward keen drivers while the Sport favours long-haul comfort and rough-track credibility.

Test-drive both on the same day; your spine and your ego will tell you which one fits.
