Brabham’s F1 machines are a greatest-hits album of clever engineering and Aussie grit. In the ’60s, Jack Brabham won the 1966 title in his own Brabham-Repco, followed by Denny Hulme in 1967, with the team also bagging the Constructors’ crowns. Fast-forward to 1978 and the infamous BT46B “fan car” vacuumed up a one-off win before being parked for, well, being a bit too clever. Then came the dart-like BT52 BMW turbo: Nelson Piquet hustled it to the 1983 Drivers’ Championship. The team bowed out in 1992, but the Brabham name still makes engineers go misty-eyed and competitors slightly nervous.
