budgie

Ah, the budgie, Australia's feathered national treasure that fits snugly in your pocket—or your heart. This tiny parakeet sports a vibrant palette of greens, yellows, and blues, with a compact body length of about 18 cm and a chirp that could rival your neighbour's incessant lawn mower. Budgies are intelligent, social, and surprisingly chatty, often learning to mimic human speech with enough practice and patience. They thrive on a diet of seeds, fresh fruits, and veggies, but beware: they can be quite the escape artists and require a spacious cage with toys to keep them entertained. For those hunting one down, PuppyList and Tradingpost might have some feathered friends looking for a new home. Remember, a budgie isn't just a pet—it's a tiny tyrant with wings.
