build your dreams review Page 2

“Build Your Dreams” is BYD, and in Australia it means sharp-priced EVs like the Atto 3, Dolphin and Seal that don’t feel like science projects.

They deliver strong value, brisk performance and genuinely usable range, while key models carry ANCAP five-star ratings to keep the family committee happy. Cabins are quirky—fun textures and a rotating screen—great for showing off, occasionally baffling in menus. Ride and handling are tidy rather than tear-up-the-mountains, and driver assists can be a bit over-eager, like a labrador on espresso. Charging speeds are competitive for the money, and the dealer network is growing, though long-term resale and software polish are still maturing. Fancy an affordable, modern EV without paying the Euro badge tax? BYD is hard to ignore.
