buying a repaired write-off qld Page 17

Buying a repaired write-off in Queensland is a bit like dating someone with a dodgy past—proceed with your eyes wide open. Queensland authorities require that these vehicles be inspected and given a Repairable Written-Off Vehicle (RWOV) certificate before they can be re-registered. Key points to watch out for:

• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards.
• Check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) matches and is intact.
• Obtain a detailed repair history to avoid surprises.

Prices can be alluringly low on platforms like Tradingpost, but remember, future resale might be tricky and insurance premiums higher. If you’re feeling brave, a thorough inspection by a trusted mechanic is your best defence.
