Yes—if your car is currently registered and roadworthy, you can drive it to an Authorised Inspection Station for a NSW eSafety check (the famed “pink slip”).
If the rego has expired and the car is unregistered, don’t drive it on public roads; get an Unregistered Vehicle Permit (which includes CTP cover for the permit period) or have it towed.
Book the inspection, take your ID and rego details, and let the mechanic poke and prod while you pretend not to be nervous.
Bottom line: registered = drive there; unregistered = UVP or tow—cheaper than fines and far less awkward.
