can l platers have passengers qld Page 2

Ah, the eternal question for the freshly minted L-plate brigade in Queensland: can you cart around your mates? The short and sweet answer is yes, but with a caveat. Queensland’s L-plate drivers can carry passengers, but only if the vehicle is not a motorcycle and the passengers are supervised by a fully licensed driver if the L-plater is under 25. Also, no more than one passenger under 21 years old is allowed unless they are immediate family. So, if you're thinking of running a party on wheels, think again – the rules are pretty strict to keep you safe and legal.

For all the nitty-gritty, check official Queensland Transport guidelines – or maybe just ask your instructor. And for buying or checking cars suitable for L-plate drivers, Tradingpost and CarShowroom can be your pals.
