Ah, the joys of learner drivers and their eager friends. In Queensland, learner drivers cannot carry passengers unless supervised by a fully licensed driver seated next to them. This means no joyrides with mates or family unless the supervising driver is there to keep you in check and not let you turn the car into a rollercoaster. The supervising driver must hold an open licence and have held it for at least one year. So, unless your mate has been driving for a year and is prepared to be the responsible adult, the answer is a firm no.
