Yes—if you’re visiting Victoria, you can drive on a valid overseas licence or an International Driving Permit, provided it’s in English or accompanied by an English translation.
You must follow Victorian road rules, carry your licence (and translation/IDP if needed), and only drive the vehicle classes your licence covers.
If you hold or obtain a permanent visa, you’ll need to convert to a Victorian licence within 6 months of arriving or of your visa grant date.
Under 18? You can’t drive in Victoria, even if your overseas licence says you can.
Rules do shift, so check VicRoads before you hit the Monash and star in the daily traffic opera.
