can you drive with a moon boot victoria Page 9

Driving with a moon boot in Victoria is a bit of a legal and practical minefield. Legally, there’s no explicit ban, but you must maintain full control of your vehicle, which can be tricky with a bulky, stiff boot impeding pedal feel and foot movement. The boot can reduce your ability to modulate the accelerator, brake, and clutch smoothly, potentially leading to unsafe driving or failing a roadside test. Insurance companies might raise an eyebrow if you’re involved in an accident while wearing one, citing negligence. Best advice? Check with VicRoads for local regulations and consult your doctor to assess if your mobility is safe enough to handle a car. When in doubt, call a taxi or summon a friend—your foot and your licence will thank you.
