can you put e10 in any car Page 8

Short answer: no, you can’t pour E10 into any old tank and call it a day.

E10 suits petrol engines approved for up to 10% ethanol—that’s most modern cars (roughly mid‑2000s onward), but not all, and absolutely not diesels or many older carburetted classics.

If your car requires 95/98 RON, skip standard E10 (typically 94 RON) unless the manual gives it a tick.

Expect a small economy hit of about 2–3% versus regular unleaded, because physics is stingy.

Check your owner’s manual or the maker’s Australian compatibility list; some motorcycles, marine gear and small engines still say “nope”.

When in doubt, use 91/95/98 that meets your car’s spec and sleep soundly.
