can you touch phone in cradle nsw Page 5

Ah, the age-old question of whether you can fiddle with your phone while it's all cosy in a cradle in New South Wales. Legally speaking, NSW is quite clear: you must not hold or touch your mobile phone while driving unless it is secured in a commercially designed holder fixed to the vehicle. So, if your phone is in a cradle that’s properly mounted, you can touch it, but only to operate functions like GPS or music controls—no texting or calling unless hands-free. Remember, the police aren’t exactly fans of distracted drivers, so play it safe or risk a hefty fine and demerit points.
