cancel registration vicroads

If you're looking to cancel your vehicle registration with VicRoads, it's a straightforward process but not without its bureaucratic charm. You can do this online, by mail, or in person—because who doesn't love a good trip to the DMV? Cancelling means you won't be legally allowed to drive the vehicle until you re-register it, so park it somewhere safe.

You'll need your vehicle details and registration certificate handy. If you sell the vehicle, cancelling the registration transfers the responsibility off your shoulders—no more surprise fines or tolls. Refunds for unused registration fees might be available, but don't expect a fortune.

For official steps and forms, consult the VicRoads website or ServiceCentral. Remember, cancelling registration doesn't cancel your insurance, so sort that separately.
