car light bulb replacement Page 124

Replacing a car light bulb is the automotive equivalent of a minor surgery—simple, but you better know what you’re doing or you’ll end up with a dim, flickering mess. Most cars use halogen bulbs for headlights, which typically last between 500 to 1,000 hours. To replace, first identify the bulb type (H1, H4, etc.), then disconnect the battery, remove the light housing, swap the bulb, and reassemble. Prices for replacement bulbs range from about $10 to $50 AUD depending on quality and type.

If you’re after LEDs or Xenon upgrades, expect a steeper price and more complex installation. For specific models and genuine parts, check out Tradingpost or CarShowroom listings. Always consult your vehicle’s manual to avoid frying your circuits or ending up with a light that’s as useful as a chocolate teapot.
