car ownership transfer qld Page 8

Transferring car ownership in Queensland is a bureaucratic thrill ride. You need to complete a Form F3520, hand over the certificate of registration, and the buyer must lodge the transfer within 14 days to avoid penalties.

Fees: Usually around $41 for the transfer. Both parties should ensure no outstanding fines or debts are tied to the vehicle.

Documents required include proof of identity, vehicle registration details, and a completed transfer form. The process can be done online via the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, or in person at selected service centres.

For detailed guidance and forms, consult the official Queensland transport website or visit ServiceCentral for assistance.
