car races newcastle

If you’re chasing car races in Newcastle, the headline act has been the Supercars Championship’s Newcastle 500, a street circuit threading past the CBD and foreshore. It debuted in 2017, returned in 2023 after the pandemic pause, and is currently off the Supercars calendar pending local approvals—so check the latest schedule before packing the esky.

For a motorsport fix in the Hunter, look out for club sprints, hillclimbs, and grassroots events around the region. When the big show’s on, expect thundering noise, tight walls, and plenty of elbows‑out racing; when it’s not, there’s still a lively car culture to keep the revs up. And if you fancy fan gear or die‑casts, Tradingpost often has bargains that won’t require a pit crew to afford.
