car registration cost victoria Page 7

Ah, the perennial joy of car ownership in Victoria—paying to keep your metal box legal on the roads. The annual registration cost for a typical passenger vehicle hovers around $800 to $900 AUD, depending on factors like vehicle type and weight. New cars might also dodge some extra stamp duty, but expect to cough up roughly $50 to $100 AUD in additional fees. Used car buyers, your registration costs will mirror the new ones, but beware of transfer fees that can add around $50 AUD. For precise and up-to-date figures, consulting VicRoads and checking listings on Tradingpost or CarShowroom might save you some surprises.
