car seat laws vic Page 7

Ah, the thrilling world of Victorian car seat laws—because apparently, your toddler's safety isn't negotiable. In Victoria, all children under 7 years must be secured in an appropriate child restraint or booster seat. Specifically, kids under 6 months should be in a rear-facing seat, from 6 months to under 4 years in a forward-facing restraint with an inbuilt harness, and from 4 to under 7 years in a booster seat with a seatbelt. Failure to comply can cost you a hefty fine and demerit points, because nothing says fun like a ticket from the Highway Patrol.

Remember, these laws are designed to keep your precious cargo intact in the event of a crash—so don't skimp on safety. For the nitty-gritty details and approved seats, check the official VicRoads website or browse listings on Tradingpost for compliant seats.
