car wait time Page 64

In Australia, new-car wait times have mostly settled: mainstream models are often delivered in 2–8 weeks, while hot-selling hybrids and some EVs can take 3–6 months.

Highly optioned trims or niche imports may blow out to 9–12 months, and a custom colour can add lag for good measure.

Want it now? Dealer in‑stock and demo cars are usually immediate, and a dealer swap interstate can shave weeks off.

Lock in a build slot with a refundable deposit, get the ETA in writing, and ask for VIN allocation updates so you know it’s real.

If you’re allergic to queues, shop in‑stock listings—or even demos—on Tradingpost and skip the waiting-room music entirely.
