caravan resale value Page 588

Caravans hold value better than most impulse buys, but depreciation still bites: expect roughly 10–20% in year one, then 5–10% per year depending on brand and condition.

New prices in Australia span about AUD $40k–$120k+, while well‑kept three‑to‑five‑year‑old vans often fetch 60–80% of their original price.

Strong resale follows reputable Aussie builders, popular layouts (island bed, separate shower/toilet), lighter tare weights, off‑road packages, and bulletproof service histories.

Keep receipts, fix leaks fast, replace tyres before they scream, and present it clean—buyers can smell neglect from the driveway.
