carsales vs gumtree

Choosing between Carsales and Gumtree? Both will move metal, but they play different games.

Carsales

• Pros: Big audience of car-focused buyers, stronger search filters, history reports and structured listings.
• Cons: Listing fees and add-ons can bite, and buyers expect sharper documentation and pricing.

Gumtree

• Pros: Often free or cheaper, casual local audience, quick to list spares or roughies.
• Cons: More tyre-kickers, fewer verification tools, and listings can get buried among lawnmowers and couches.

Fees? Carsales usually costs more upfront; Gumtree can be cheap-as, but you’ll spend more time filtering messages.
