In Queensland, switching to personalised plates is a two-step tango: pick your combo and style through Personalised Plates Queensland (PPQ), then bolt them on when they arrive.
PPQ links your chosen characters to your rego with Transport and Main Roads, so it’s mostly a matter of paying the fee and following the fitting instructions like a responsible adult with a socket set.
Once the shiny rectangles land, install them, make sure they’re legal and legible, and update your insurer, toll accounts and parking apps so the robots still recognise you.
Selling the car later? You can usually transfer the plates to the buyer or retain the combo for your next chariot—just follow PPQ/TMR’s transfer rules and paperwork.
Rules and costs change, so give PPQ/TMR a quick check before you start measuring bumper holes.
