Flat tyre? Lovely. Here’s the quick, no-fuss drill before the mozzies move in.
Pull over to a flat, firm spot well off the road, hazards on, handbrake yanked, and chock a wheel. Grab the spare, jack and wheel brace; crack the nuts loose while the tyre’s on the ground (lefty-loosey, promise). Position the jack at the marked jacking point, lift until the flat is airborne, spin off the nuts, swap in the spare, and seat it. Hand-tighten the nuts in a star pattern, lower the car, then tighten firmly in the same pattern—no jumping on the wrench like a kangaroo on a trampoline. Check the spare’s pressure and stow the wounded wheel; drive gently and get a proper repair or replacement ASAP (space-savers aren’t heroes). If you’re on a motorway, in the dark, or the verge is squishy, call roadside assist—being alive beats being punctual.
