To check QLD vehicle registration, use the Queensland Government rego check with the plate number or VIN—it’s quick and free.
You’ll see status (current or cancelled), expiry date, CTP insurer, and any concessions or conditions linked to the rego.
For deeper due diligence (finance owing, written-off or stolen history), buy a low-cost PPSR certificate using the VIN.
Cross-check the VIN on the car against the build plate and windscreen etching—close enough isn’t good enough.
Do this before handing over cash; it’s the cheapest insurance you’ll ever buy.
