check vin number wa free Page 6

Trying to check a VIN in WA for free? Here’s the awkward truth: the only comprehensive title/finance/written‑off/stolen check is the national PPSR, and it costs about $2.

Free bits exist—you can confirm rego status via WA DoT (by plate) and run recall checks using the VIN with manufacturers or the ACCC.

But if you’re about to hand over cash, paying the PPSR fee is cheaper than a bad latte and far better for your blood pressure.

Before you buy on Tradingpost, match the VIN on the car, the PPSR certificate, and the seller’s ID; any mismatch and you moonwalk away.
