classic fords Page 90

Classic Fords are the automotive equivalent of your granddad's dusty vinyl collection—full of charm, some quirks, and a fair bit of nostalgia. Think Ford Falcon XR or the Ford Mustang (first generations), where muscle met timeless design. Prices for these beauties vary wildly depending on condition and rarity, ranging from a cheeky few thousand AUD for a project car on Tradingpost to over $100,000 for a pristine pony car. Common issues include rust, carburettor tantrums, and wiring gremlins.

• Rust in wheel arches and sills
• Carburettor tuning and flooding
• Electrical system failures

If you want to bask in the glow of classic Ford ownership, brace yourself for some tinkering and check listings on Tradingpost and CarShowroom for your dream ride.
