common problems with lexus nx

The Lexus NX is generally as drama-free as a cuppa, but a few gremlins can gatecrash the serenity.

• Selected 2015–2020 NX variants were caught up in the fuel pump recall, which could cause rough running or a stall—check your VIN with a Lexus dealer.
• The infotainment touchpad is infamous for lag and mis-taps; software updates help, but it’s more faff than failure.
• 12V batteries can go flat if the car isn’t driven regularly (hybrids included); a healthy battery and longer drives keep it happy.
• Occasional brake squeal and front-end clunks (sway-bar links/bushes) crop up with age—annoying, not apocalyptic.

Most issues are fixable and many cars are faultless; get a pre-purchase inspection and verify recalls in Australia to keep things blissfully boring.
