common problems with mg hs Page 2

The MG HS offers champagne features on a lemonade budget, but a few gremlins are repeat offenders.

• Dual‑clutch auto hesitation or shudder at low speeds, plus occasional heat warnings in stop‑start traffic.
• Infotainment lag or freezes, flaky Bluetooth, and a rear camera that can be slow to wake.
• Over‑eager driver assists (lane keep/AEB) or poor calibration after windscreens and repairs.
• Interior creaks and trim fitment niggles, with some reports of weak air‑con on hot days.
• Higher‑than‑claimed fuel use on the 1.5T, and PHEV EV range dropping quickly if driven hard or in cold weather.

Check for recalls and software updates by VIN, insist on a long test drive, and lean on the 7‑year warranty to sort anything that squeaks, blinks, or judders.
