comprehensive vs comprehensive plus Page 344

“Comprehensive” vs “Comprehensive Plus” is insurance-speak for solid cover versus solid cover with extra bells, whistles, and a comfier waiting room.

Details vary by insurer, so read the PDS unless you enjoy expensive surprises.

• Pros: Covers your car and others for accidental damage, theft, fire, storms; often includes liability and sometimes choice of repairer.
• Cons: Perks like hire car after at-fault accidents, windscreen excess waivers, or roadside assistance may be limited or optional add-ons.

• Pros: Typically adds higher benefit limits and convenience extras (e.g., hire car after most incidents, windscreen with no excess, some roadside coverage).
• Cons: Higher premiums and occasionally stricter conditions — you might pay for perks you’ll never need.
