Park nose-to-nose, ignitions off, and keep the clamps apart like squabbling siblings. Connect red to the flat battery’s positive (+), then red to the donor’s positive (+). Now black to the donor’s negative (−), and black to a clean, unpainted metal earth on the flat car—do not use the flat battery’s negative post. Start the donor, wait a minute, then start the flat car and let it idle a few minutes. Remove cables in reverse order: earth off first, donor negative off, donor positive off, flat positive off. Keep leads clear of belts, and if it still won’t crank, the battery isn’t your only melodrama.
