cx30 review australia Page 4

The Mazda CX‑30 is the small SUV for people who secretly still want a hatch that handles.

It steers sweetly, rides best on smaller wheels, and serves up a cabin that feels posh without shouting about it.

Safety kit is generous and refinement is typically Mazda, though the back seat and boot are tighter than some rivals.

The petrol engines are smooth and frugal enough, but they’re more about polish than punch; enthusiasts should manage expectations.

Infotainment uses a rotary controller rather than touch in motion, which is bliss for some, baffling for others.

In Australia it’s well specced and sensibly priced for the segment, and ownership costs are friendly; just pick your wheel size wisely and enjoy the drive.
