cybertruck vs rivian Page 5

Cybertruck vs Rivian R1T is like a stainless-steel sci‑fi prop squaring up to a camp-ready Swiss Army ute—neither is officially sold here, but Aussies are curious.

Think of the Tesla as brutalist speed with steer‑by‑wire tricks and mega tow numbers; the Rivian plays the refined adventurer with clever storage and superb ride control. Both are electric utes with big batteries, big weight, and even bigger personalities.

Cybertruck

• Pros: Wild durability claims, huge torque, rear‑steer agility, strong towing, Tesla charging ecosystem (where supported).
• Cons: Massive footprint, tricky bed access, early build variability, costly tyres, AU ownership is grey‑import territory.

Rivian R1T

• Pros: Plush cabin, neat gear tunnel, excellent off‑road modes and air suspension, friendly UI, thoughtful accessories.
• Cons: Range dents when towing, reliance on third‑party charging, hefty price/weight, not officially available in AU.

No winner here—choose the flavour of crazy that best suits your driveway, your camping kit, and your appetite for import logistics.
