difference between honda civic vti-l and vti-s Page 2

In Australia (10th‑gen Civic era), the VTi‑S sticks with the 1.8‑litre four, while the VTi‑L jumps to the 1.5‑litre turbo and more kit. Same bones, different attitude.

• VTi‑S pros: lower price; simpler 1.8L NA (~104 kW/174 Nm) that’s cheap to run; adds smart entry, parking sensors, alloys and Honda LaneWatch on many years.
• VTi‑S cons: modest performance; fewer premium touches; usually no dual‑zone climate or larger wheels.
• VTi‑L pros: punchier 1.5L turbo (~127 kW/220 Nm); 17‑inch wheels, dual‑zone climate, more safety/tech; better highway overtaking and economy.
• VTi‑L cons: higher buy‑in; prefers premium fuel; CVT can drone when you prod it; insurance/servicing can be dearer.

Think of VTi‑S as the well‑equipped commuter and VTi‑L as the sprightlier sibling with a gym membership—both roomy and sensible. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
