In NSW, your L plates must be clearly displayed at the front and rear of the car, easy to spot and not half-hidden behind tint or clutter.
Secure them properly—magnetic, bracket or suction-cup is fine—so they don’t bail out at speed, and don’t block your number plates, lights or indicators.
Use the proper black “L” on a yellow background; homemade scribbles don’t count, even if your art teacher said you had promise.
When the learner hops out, take them off—driving around with Ls when you’re not learning is about as subtle as a high-vis vest at a black-tie dinner.
