Yes—current Australian Ford Ranger diesels (the 2022-on next-gen models, including the 2.0 biturbo and 3.0 V6) use AdBlue/DEF for their SCR emissions systems. Earlier PX models (like the old 3.2 five-cylinder and 2.2) did not, so don’t panic if your 2017 workhorse has never seen a blue cap. The Raptor’s 3.0-litre petrol doesn’t need AdBlue either, because petrol and NOx control play by different rules. Expect DEF use to be roughly 1–2% of diesel consumption, with the car giving ample warnings before it runs low. The filler sits next to the fuel flap and top-ups are cheap—though you’ll still grumble about it on the forecourt, because that’s tradition.
