In Queensland, if you're selling a vehicle privately, you generally do not need a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC). The RWC is mostly a New South Wales thing. However, the buyer will need to get an RWC before registering the vehicle in their name, so it's often good karma to get one to sweeten the deal. Dealers usually handle this for you, but private sellers can skip the paperwork hassle. Still, it's wise to be honest about the car's condition to avoid future headaches.
