In QLD you don’t need periodic inspections to renew rego; you only need a Safety Certificate when selling a registered vehicle or transferring the rego, and when re‑registering something that’s been unregistered.
Some commercial and heavy vehicles require a regular Certificate of Inspection, but everyday cars and utes aren’t summoned for annual poking.
So unless you’re selling or swapping ownership, save the workshop visit for when it actually breaks.
