does 2 stroke fuel go off Page 954

Yes—2‑stroke fuel absolutely goes off, and sooner than you’d like.

Premix ages faster because oil and ethanol-blended petrol oxidise and separate, turning your engine into a grumpy pumpkin.

Rule of thumb: use premix within 30 days; in a sealed, cool container you might stretch it to 2–3 months, or 6–12 months with a quality stabiliser.

Straight petrol lasts roughly 3–6 months, while E10 can sour quicker by slurping up moisture.

If it smells like varnish, looks dark, or your whipper snipper refuses to play, dispose of it properly and mix fresh.

Store in an approved container out of the sun, and only mix what you’ll burn—future you will applaud.
