In Queensland, the legal driving age isn't just a whimsical number plucked from thin air; it's a structured progression. You can get your learner's permit at 16 years old, which allows you to drive under supervision. After holding your learner's permit for at least 12 months and logging the necessary supervised driving hours, you can sit for your provisional licence test at 17 years old. Provisional licences come with their own set of restrictions until you graduate to an open licence at 21 years old or after holding your P2 licence for a minimum period. Always check the official Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads for the nitty-gritty details before hitting the road.
