electric car battery replacement

Replacing an electric car battery isn’t pocket change; think new OEM packs at roughly AUD 12,000–35,000+, with labour another AUD 1,000–3,500 depending on model. Used or reconditioned packs can land around AUD 5,000–15,000, and individual module fixes sometimes sneak in at AUD 1,500–6,000 if the pack allows it. Most EVs sold here carry an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, so if your range has fallen off a cliff inside that window, let the manufacturer pay for the privilege. Independent specialists are growing in Australia, but ensure they provide a state-of-health report and keep the high-voltage safety rituals sacred. If the failure is crash-related, talk to your insurer; if it’s just old age, sadly your policy won’t buy you a new chemistry set. Budget smart, ask for a written quote itemising parts, labour, transport and disposal—then breathe, because you’ll be back silently humiliating petrol stations soon enough.
