The LDV eT60 is Australia’s first all-electric ute, which sounds heroic until you remember batteries hate heavy towing and long distances. Around town it’s wonderfully quiet, punchy enough, and cheap to run; on the open road, its real-world range is closer to about 300 km, so plan your pit stops like a chess grandmaster. It’s single-motor RWD, no low range, and braked towing is capped at about 1,000 kg—fine for a box trailer, not so much for a caravan. Payload is ute-respectable and DC fast charging can get you from low to ~80% in roughly three-quarters of an hour if the charger behaves. Cabin and ride feel very T60-with-batteries, which is to say functional rather than fancy. Verdict: brilliant proof-of-concept for tradies with urban routes; less ideal if your job list includes “cape, dunes, and a boat ramp.”
